Lunch at the Palace International

My father and I went to lunch today at a Kenyan restaurant, Palace International, in Durham, to get my stomach prepared for the trip! Owners Caren Ochola and her husband, Maurice do an incredible job serving up amazing, authentic Kenyan food. We shared the Maharagwe Ya Nazi, pinto beans cooked in a coconut milk with ginger and cayenne pepper served with Basmati rice and spinach.

MMM, yes, I approve. We also had Nairobian Punch, which is a blend of fresh passion, mango and guava juice. So sweet and refreshing!
